A member of the Dallas Fire Department since 1995, Nathan has spent most of his career at station 6 where he took the Department’s promotional exam and was promoted to driver. Nathan also attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas where he earned a paramedic certification.

He later furthered his career and went through months of additional training to become USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) certified and joined Texas Task Force 2.

Because of his heroic efforts to save an elderly victim from a burning building, Dallas Fire Rescue presented Nathan with the Meritorious Service Award on June 5, 2004. Having a career in the fire service has exposed Nathan to numerous burn survivors – both his brothers in the fire service and civilians.

“I am honored to be involved with the Sons of the Flag. It gives me the opportunity to bring the necessary funding to advance technology and treatment for burn survivors in regards to pain management and visual scarring. Being a firefighter, burns are a reality and could affect many of my teammates in the near future…just the nature of the job.”

Nathan resides in Kemp, Texas with his wife, Jennifer, and son, Pierce.
